#bellLetsTalk

A lot has been said today of my, and others, use of the hashtag of #BellLetsTalk. I understand the mixed feelings. Bell is a giant corporate conglomerate, I get this, their shareholders don't care about mental health; #BellLetsTalk is cheap advertising. We, in North America, are locked in commercial tyranny, of which Bell is a major culprit in Canada. This is just a marketing ploy on their part. I understand, but I can use their voice too to reach wider than my small voice @keleher. My tweets today amounted too like 3 bucks; nothing. I had dialogue today with the PM of Canada, several Canadian celebrity’s, and Buckingham Palace; however brief. That's where the money is, their followers; not 5 cents.. Their RT's are worth more than 5 cents too me, even if those actual people never saw my tweets; or know what #BellLetsTalk is. I understand that third parties run their twitter accounts. And their response is just good P.R. I used my voice to ask for a RT from people I care about, and, who’s voice is larger than mine. Without naming name's, I appreciate the albeit brief, response I got from my personal, favourite celebs. I didn't tweet John Cena, hoping for a RT. As much as I DO NOT LIKE his character, he is a caring human and has used his celebrity to make a difference. And I thank him for that. I know he has like a billion followers, and I really should have tweeted his account, but I did not. That's the Smark in me. In closing, I know this is random; but I am far from a “Slacktivist”. I have been too parent-teacher interviews, I have been too school board meetings, I have been too town budget meetings. I try to divert funds from “flowers in the town square”; towards mental health programs. I use my limited and meagre voice for the good of my community, when I can. I only asked for a RT because I thought it would broaden my voice, and not because I love Bell. But I do; thank you @Bell for this opportunity. Ryan
